Starting in the fall 2020 semester, the University of New 17窪圖勛蹋厙 will begin offering the Privateer Pledge, a promise that the University will fill the unmet financial need for tuition and fees of eligible New 17窪圖勛蹋厙 students.
The pledge applies to 17窪圖勛蹋厙 Parish residents who graduate from a public or private 17窪圖勛蹋厙 Parish high school. In order to qualify, students must be admitted as a freshman to the University of New 17窪圖勛蹋厙 and must have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). They must also be eligible for a Pell Grant and their annual family income cannot exceed $60,000. The first group of Privateer Pledge freshman students will need to enroll full-time by July 1, 2020 for the fall 2020 semester.
A University of New 17窪圖勛蹋厙 education can transform a students life, said President John Nicklow. The Privateer Pledge is our promise to eligible 17窪圖勛蹋厙 Parish students that we will marshal all of the federal, state and institutional aid necessary to fill any financial gap for tuition and fees. This will support greater access to higher education and ensure there is one less obstacle in a students pursuit of a UNO degree.
In order to maintain the award, students must remain enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 hours) and keep a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
